João Moreira Pinto Saraiva was admitted in 1989 as an engineer in the ENE-UEE, the Central Region Direction, and successively performed the duties of Director of the Central Region (1990) and Director General of the ENE-UEE (1992). From November 1992 to 1996, he was Secretary of State for Energy and Water, and from 1996 to January 1999, Minister of Energy and Water. Since January 1999 he is high technician at ENE-EP and acted as advisor to the Minister of Energy and Water between 1999-2005. From August 2010 to February 2012 he was a member of the Management Committee of GAMEK and since April 2012 he is Counsellor to the Minister of Energy and Water, and Coordinator of the Directorate of the Program for the Transformation of the Electric Sector. Since 2007 he is professor at the Independent University of Angola UNIA.
