Nataliya Nikiforova holds a Master’s degree in Law by the University of Malaga. She has joined the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Convention on the Protection of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention) in 2010. Over the past 3 years Ms. Nikiforova has been working on the issues related to international water law, particularly in the field of transboundary waters management. She is responsible for National Policy Dialog process in countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia. Nataliya Nikiforova is also responsible for the Convention´s outreach in the Latin American and the Caribbean region. Prior to joining the UNECE she worked for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Previously, she served as an associate lawyer in a law firm specialized in migration issues in Spain. Following her interest in international development and humanitarian sectors, she did an internship at the International Organization for Migration.
